On July 16, Greg Elliott spoke on the topic “A Project Management Approach to Infrastructure Procurement” to an audience of eighty interested people at the CIPS monthly breakfast.
CIPS Australia is the peak industry body for the procurement profession in Australia and New Zealand. With almost 2,500 members, it is dedicated to promoting best practice, continuous improvement in professional standards, and raising awareness of the contribution that procurement and supply management can make to organisations.
Greg drew on Projenco’s extensive experience in developing procurement programs for the establishment of relationship-style contracts and included:
- A methodology used to confirm scope, identify risks and manage contingencies;
- A process for developing a contracting strategy and conducting the tendering process; and
- Some observations and practical suggestions on project delivery and performance management.
The presentation was followed by a lively and in-depth question and answer session.
